    Where is Montefalco?

    Piazza del Comune, Montefalco, Italy

    Piazza del Comune, Montefalco, Italy

Montefalco is a medieval town found upon an outcrop north of Rome in the region of Umbria. The town is surrounded by ancient stone walls and found within a maze of cobbled laneways, medieval towers, historic buildings and churches from a number of periods, including romanesque, gothic and renaissance.

Sagrantino, is the local wine and is famous in Italy and abroad. It can be tasted in the town’s numerous wine bars or by visiting the outlying wineries around Montefalco. The extra virgin olive oil, too, is renowned.

Montefalco is an excellent base to explore the wider Umbrian region. It’s close to Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Spoleto, Norcia and Castelluccio. A little further away, but no more than 2 hours, you can reach Siena, Rome and Florence.

    Where is Esperance?

    Esperance, WA, Australia

    Esperance, WA, Australia

Esperance is located 720km south/east of Perth, Western Australia and is also known as the ‘Bay of Isles’. It is well known for its beautiful, pristine beaches and has three nearby National Parks offering fabulous bush walking opportunities to see the Australian fauna & flora.

The wildflower season which runs from September to November is a very popular time to see a stunning display of wildflowers which add to the spectacular scenery of the area.

Esperance itself has a small population of approx 14,000 and it’s town centre is enhanced by the row of Norfolk pines that add elegance to the esplanade.

    Where is Hurghada?

Hurghada beach by the Red Sea, Egypt

Hurghada beach by the Red Sea, Egypt

Hurghada is the most accessible location to the Red Sea, situated on the west coast of Egypt. The trip from Cairo to Hurghada by bus takes approximately 7 hours.

It was once a quiet fishing port (as I remember it to be back in the late 80s) but is now a busy tourist destination, with diving and snorkelling being the main attraction.

However, there is also the vast cultural experience of being immersed in the Arabic, muslim and Nubian (local nomads) world. There is of course, also the Egyptian deserts to explore.

One Great Reason to Visit Hurghada

One great reason to visit Hurghada is for the reef experience of the Red Sea. The vast marine life that you can snorkel or dive with is truly amazing. You are able to swim through dense schools of fish and if you’re really fortunate, you may even see a sea turtle.
