Travel Photo of the Week: Contemporary Architecture and Fine Food at the Olinda Tea House
The Olinda Tea House is one of my favourite nearby award winning tea houses and restaurants. It’s probably no more than 20 minutes away! It’s not long been opened (landscaping is still underway) and the contemporary architecture, combined with its layout and building products, make it an environmentally sustainable venue. It brings the beautiful outdoors of the Dandenong Ranges, indoors!
If you’re ever in the area to enjoy the attractions of the Dandenong Ranges, you must include stopping here for lunch or a cuppa.

Travel Photo of the Week: Stourhead Garden, Wiltshire, England
Stourhead Garden was listed as one of ‘My 3 Best Kept Travel Secrets‘ largely because I’d never heard of it and on visiting, was mighty impressed. There is nothing more delightful than coming across a travel destination you know nothing or very little about and find it to be rather special – this was the case with Stourhead.
Stourhead is a vast National Trust garden surrounding a lake with bridges, temples, grottos and pathways which all form part of the Stourhead Estate located near Mere in southern Wiltshire. It’s an absolute picture during Autumn as this photo captures its changing colours.

Travel Photo of the Week: Historic Banyan Tree, Vanuatu
Whilst on a day trip around Efate in Vanuatu, we stopped by this historic Banyan Tree. As you can see, it was too big to be able to fit it into the whole photo! They grow up, up, up and out, out, out. They are massive and old. During the cyclone season, they’re used by the locals for shelter. Climbing into the tangled, above-ground root system, the Banyan tree can withstand the most violent of winds and offer protection for the people.

Travel Photo of the Week: Table Mountain, South Africa
Cape Town is a beautifully unique city of South Africa, best-known for the striking natural environment and the harbour. Table Mountain has recently been voted one of the new 7 Wonders of Nature, which is no surprise as experiencing a day on Table Mountain is nothing short of breath-taking. Table Mountain consists of a 3 kilometre long plateau, and features an exclusive abundance of flora and fauna, some of which are not found anywhere else in the world.
To get to the top of the mountain you can either take a long hike up through the natural landscape or catch a lift in the Cable Cars; which is a fun and exciting experience in itself. On the way up, you get to see an amazing and vast view of the coastline and Cape Town from above. From up there, you can also see the famous Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment and where Nelson Mandela alongside many other political prisoners were imprisoned for decades. The picturesque views and the uniqueness of Table Mountain make it a must-see in Cape Town. This photograph is a view of Table Mountain from Bloubergstrand, which was also a nice destination to visit for a walk along the beach and a meal or coffee.
