Before you begin designing as a graphic designer using industry standard software, you need to cultivate a proper mind set.

In an editorial titled "Absence of Ugliness", Rick Altman has described the mind set a student needs to maintain while learning to design.

Rick Altman is editor-at-large for Corel Magazine. Corel, with Adobe, is among the leading software companies producing tools for graphic designers.

Rick Altman's article can be found on the Web. Please read this article at least twice before you write the assignment:

Write a thorough and complete summary of the article: one to two pages, using either AppleWorks or MicrosoftWord.
Use the format taught to you in your English classes and used for the AIMS Test. Use the "chunking" method.
Add an MLA-style citation for this article. Use MLA's site to help you (http://www.mla.org/).
This is due at the end of the class today. Print it, and hand it in by the end of class Friday, October 26. One fifth of the points you can earn are for turning it in by this deadline.
